June 15-19 - Art and Social Justice - This camp is for artistic teens and tweens who want to push their art skills to the next level, explore new materials and techniques, and want to learn about other artists who use art to inspire change and tell important stories. We will have a special emphasis on learning about BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists as well as artists from Chicago. We will explore public art around Chicago, some art museums, and
This camp is designed with ages 10-14 in mind; please contact blazingstarschool@gmail.com if you have a slightly older or younger camper and want to see if it will be a good fit. Check out our other camps for ages 4+.
We will run another session of “Art and Social Justice” during the week of August 10-14; if you’re interested in signing a camper up for both sessions, we may repeat some activities (because some locations are worth visiting twice!) but we will have fresh projects and fresh artists to study to keep it interesting for repeat campers!
Camp runs from 9:30 - 3:30. If you need before or after care, please return to the main menu to add them.
